Choose AC capacity without guessing

Room area is the starting point; sun, top-floor heat and occupancy change the answer.

Use area as a baseline

Up to roughly 120 sq.ft often suits 1 ton; 120–180 sq.ft commonly suits 1.5 ton. Confirm with a site inspection.

Direct afternoon sun, large glass, top floors, kitchens and many occupants increase cooling load.

An inverter AC is usually worthwhile for frequent use because it varies compressor speed instead of repeatedly switching at full load.
